Ännu en del i lagbygget är nu klar. OIK har idag skrivit ett 1-års kontrakt med den finländska forwarden Toni Lampo.
Toni fyller 24 år om några veckor och kommer från Somero i Finland. Hans moderklubb är Tappara.
Närmast kommer han från spel i Boro/Vetlanda där han avslutade förra säsongen. Den säsongen inledde han dock i Nordamerika då han gjorde totalt 19 matcher där i två olika ligor. Säsongen före det gjorde han först 21 matcher med Asplöven i Hockeyettan och där noterade han 9 poäng (2+7) på de matcherna. Sedan hamnade han i Boro/Vetlanda där han alltså har spelat två halva säsonger de senaste åren. Totalt har det blivit 22 matcher i Hockeytvåan med 19 poäng (11+8) som resultat. Sin senaste säsong i Finland (17/18) spelade han i den finska tredjeligan med Karhu HT och där gjorde han 33 poäng (16+17) på 44 matcher.
Med sina 191 cm och drygt 100 kg blir hans fysik och offensiva spelstil ett bra tillskott i årets OIK.
Hello Toni, how would
you describe yourself as a person?
-I would say that I am a humourous,
social and caring person.
And as a hockey
player?
-I´m a hard working team player.
What are your
strenghts on the ice?
-I´m big bodied a good skater and also
offensively minded.
You have played with
Boro/Vetlanda in the same league as Olofström. What can you say about the
hockey played in this league?
-I think it´s good hockey played there
and it is a good league to play in if you want to take further steps in your
hockey career.
What role did you
have in Boro?
-I had a lot of ice time and I played in
both powerplay and penalty kill. I was a first or second line guy.
You where in America for
the first half of last season. Tell us a little about your time there.
-It was a good experience for me and the
leauge was really professional. It was a much faster game than in Europe
because of the smaller rinks and the game style.
It has been a long
break från hockey because of covid-19. How have you been preparing yourself for
the new season?
-Yes, I really missed hockey and it´s
finally starting up again. During the summer I like to do a lot of different
sports such as ballhockey, floorball, football and then of course the gym.
